Foundry Board is a dedicated wear-resistant machinable polyurethane tooling material within the LH-TOOL® range, specially engineered for sand casting, investment casting and pattern workshop environments that demand excellent abrasion resistance and stable dimensional performance. We supply multiple density grades tailored to different foundry workflows. Medium-density foundry boards strike a balanced performance for standard master patterns, match plates and core boxes, delivering smooth CNC milling, crisp edge definition and low dust output during machining. High-density variants feature enhanced compressive strength and superior wear resistance, resisting continuous friction from sand, coating and repeated mould stripping, which greatly extends the service life of reusable casting patterns.
With a fine, uniform internal cellular structure, this board maintains stable shape under workshop humidity changes and coating operations, avoiding swelling, warping or surface grain shedding that commonly troubles ordinary modeling boards. It is fully compatible with our supporting Epoxy Modeling Paste, special adhesives and repair fillers for seamless splicing, gap repair and surface finishing. After curing, repaired areas machine consistently with the base board without creating hard spots.
Common uses include metal casting master patterns, core boxes, shoe casting patterns, pump and valve casting moulds, wheel hub patterns and sand-mould forming tools for general machinery. Compared with wood patterns, LH-TOOL® foundry boards require less maintenance, hold tighter tolerance and produce cleaner casting surfaces.
